Joshua the Firebringer

Joshua helped Lycius, King of Rags and Lucca the Inventor to found Tent Town, and thru no small effort. After Joshua’s magics, and Lucca’s machines, made their assailants pliable to Lycius’s words they brought their hands together and pitched the first tent, the big top which serves as the community center. Since that time Joshua has lent his long memory and powereful mojo to the betterment of his fellows in Tent Town. However his ephemeral personality, coupled with the general unease of the average street denizen regarding the awakened, have made him seem less approachable to those not also awakened. His insight has definitely defended the tents from a number of threats, both magical and mundane, and he has inspired the other awakened among their ranks to use theirs gifts to help as well. The awakened members tend to serve as the front line of defense, given their natural skills, and thus bear the brunt of the Barrens constant attempt to over-grow and engulf their bastion. This has led Joshua to be more conservative in his approach of the gang problem, since he feels most acutely the loss of life required to safeguard their way of life.
Upon first meeting Glamocles Joshua became confrontational, saying that he sensed in him the same courtship with death that he associates with Markie Murko, whom he distrusts. But when he saw that Glamocles treated him with deference, Joshua soothed his tone, welcoming him to Tent Town and directing him to Markie, who was in the market.
